In Remembrance of who you were

A Blog for Maria DeJesus Cruz

Still with us every day

Maria DeJesus Cruz, age 70, passed away peacefully with family by her side on September 16, 2018, after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  She was born in El Salvador to Nicolas Romanos and Maria Luisa Cruz.  Maria migrated to the United States where she raised her 3 children, Oswaldo, Sandra and Edgar.  She lived in Queens NY, where she taught Sunday School to children for many years and then moved to Orlando FL. Maria was a prayer warrior with a passion to evangelize to as many as possible, visiting hospitals, prisons and took part in many outreach events to preach the Gospel and help those in need. Her hands were rarely still, always looking for something to do for others and she was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was a living example of Prov. 31:13: “She looks for wool and flax and works with her hands in delight". She always trained her children to be self-sufficient and to work hard to be a blessing to those around them.  Maria Cruz honored her parents and devoted many years to the personal care of her father and mother in their old age. She attended to their every need, spiritually and physically.  Maria loved her nine grandchildren with all her heart and enjoyed their visits.  She enjoyed making Pupusas, a typical Salvadorian dish, for all who visited her.  Her last heart desire was to speak to her grandchildren to remind them that she would be waiting for them in heaven. And to this day her legacy lives through the rest of us…
